Our mission here at Sprigs is to teach the importance of family health by promoting a holistic lifestyle through the use of herbs. Our goal is to help give you and your family the confidence that you need to take responsibility for your health, as well as support you along your journey. Together, and with faith, we can build a healthier future for our families.
As a parent, the health of you and your family is your responsibility. We come alongside you to help empower you to take charge with informed decisions and natural solutions.

Meet The Founders
Before Sprigs was ever a company, our first job was building healthy habits in our own home.We’ve always believed the best thing we can do for our kids is lead by example. And that belief has shaped not only how we raise our five children, but how we’ve built Sprigs: our family’s health is a responsibility God entrusted to us, not something to simply hand off to someone else.
That belief has only grown stronger through the years.Every parent knows the feeling of sitting across from a doctor, a friend, or even a well-meaning stranger and wondering, Is this really the right thing for my child? We’ve been there too. And over the years, we’ve learned the importance of asking questions, doing our own research, and trusting the intuition God has given us as parents.That’s really why Sprigs exists.
We wanted to create products families could trust, while giving parents the information they need to feel confident making decisions for their families. Not because we have all the answers—we don’t—but because we believe parents deserve to feel empowered to ask questions, learn, and make informed choices for the people they know and love best.
We believe it takes a village to raise a healthy family, and that’s what we hope Sprigs can be: a small part of your village, helping strengthen families in both faith and health.More than anything, we want to encourage you to trust your gut. You know your family in a way no one else does.

For over 20 years, Herbalist Sandra Ellis has been teaching families how to use the power of herbs for health and healing. She is the mother of 18, grandmother of 76, a Clinical Herbalist, a Microscopist, a Midwife and an author. She is known by many as Dr. Mom and is passionate about helping to educate mothers on how to raise their children holistically. Sandra has formulated many of the products for Sprigs and is a writer for the motherhood magazine. She firmly believes that God has left everything on this planet we need in order to live long, healthy lives and feels a strong desire to help people return to a more natural way of living.
Mary Colvin

Mary Colvin RH(AHG) is a dedicated Clinical herbalist and rural herbal practitioner, author, formulator, educator, and mentor. She founded Ancestral Herbology, LLC located in Wakeman, Ohio which values the philosophy of “Healing the way nature intended’ and is one of the formulators for Sprigs Life, Inc. She has dedicated her time in guiding students on their journey within herbalism. She is the host of Herbology Talk Free quarterly meet-ups and the Herbology Talk Podcast both offering tools for all levels of students. She is the author of The Herbalist’s Guide: How to Build and Use Your Own Apothecary which is a guide for the self-studied student into the basics of herbalism and offers hands-on training to create their own home apothecary.
Ellen Kamhi

- Teaches Botanical Pharmacology
Ellen Kamhi, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, RH(AHG), the Natural Nurse ® , attended Rutgers and Cornell Universities, sat on the Panel of Traditional Medicine at Columbia Presbyterian Medical School, and teaches Botanical Pharmacology. Dr. Kamhi is a Registered Herbalist with the American Herbalist Guild, nationally board certified as a holistic nurse, and author of many books about Herbs and Natural Health. She offers CE approved Certification Programs at Natural Nurse Academy, podcasts, including Herbally Yours, which educates about all areas of natural health, and is a Regulatory and Scientific Advisory Consultant.
